We are a small private practice so can offer personalised attention without long waits. We appreciate that finding the right dentist is important so our modern AIR CONDITIONED FACILITIES have been designed with you in mind. FREE ON-SITE PARKING IS PROVIDED. We are willing to work with anxious patients, to help you overcome these feelings & make you feel secure & comfortable during treatment.

OUR POLICY
We are a private practice & provide dental care for the whole family. Dental decay & tooth loss is no longer inevitable. With the right treatment, advice & home-care, natural teeth can be kept in a healthy mouth for a lifetime. Here teeth are never removed if it is possible to save them. We base all our treatment plans on this principle. Our aim is for you to enjoy coming to see us. We want you to feel relaxed & secure - & to enjoy how your smile looks & your mouth feels.

We feel it’s important that you’re comfortable during your visit, so the centre has been specially designed to be as pleasant as possible. We have a private consultation & discussion area separate from the treatment rooms & it is here we can talk & discuss how you feel about your mouth; about any of our suggestions for improving the health & appearance of your mouth; & to how we can help you relax during any treatment.

In the treatment rooms, we make sure you are safe & comfortable, we take any treatment at your pace, & even offer a choice of music to relax to or DVD films to watch.

YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
Unless you have an emergency, your first appointment will be for us to get to know each other. Records will be established & you will receive a thorough 10-point examination including any necessary x-rays. All patients receive a comprehensive written treatment plan & estimate of cost. Please allow 1 hour for this visit.

REGULAR 10-POINT EXAMINATIONS
Regular examinations form the basis of good preventive dental care, they mean that you’re always assured of a healthy mouth. We Check:

  • Past dental history;
  • medical history;
  • face & neck for abnormalities;
  • gums;
  • teeth;
  • inside of the mouth;
  • oral cancer check;
  • jaw joints;
  • previous xrays;
  • bone condition;

Finally there is a discussion about any treatment needed or any measures necessary to keep healthy. These appointments are used to carry out a thorough 10 point examination of your complete mouth including your teeth & gums & to advise you of any potential problems. Regular reminders are all part of the service we offer.

TREATMENT & COSMETIC CARE
Treatment plans are always worked out on a preventive basis, & will include some sessions for preventive advice & treatment with our resident hygienist: she is your Personal Dental Fitness Trainer. The aim of this treatment is to make your mouth really healthy, & so avoid further tooth decay & gum disease.

Treatment available includes the latest mercury free white fillings, root fillings, cosmetic veneers, crowns & bridges. Tooth whitening treatments are also available. We have undergone training in the use of dental implants & can offer this exciting very successful treatment; please ask for details. We also offer a complete denture service including repairs. Orthodontic treatment (tooth straightening) is carried out for children & adults by referral to a nearby specialist.

We believe that beautiful teeth make you feel confident & look good. There is no need for anyone to go through life without a healthy mouth & a beautiful smile.

EMERGENCY CARE
A recorded message, giving contact phone numbers, operates whenever the centre is closed. We will endeavour to provide advice or treatment as soon as possible: Telephone: 01293-616414.

Please help us to help you in an emergency by letting us know changes to your address & contact phone numbers as soon as they occur. During office hours, all emergencies will be attended to that day, if at all possible.

  • Please do not come to the practice.
  • Please contact by telephone.
  • If the answer phone activates, please listen carefully to the message.
  • You will be advised to leave a message. Please do so and we will contact you within a maximum of two hours.
  • Remember to leave your name and contact telephone number, and preferably the nature of your problem.
  • If we are not at the practice you will be given a telephone number to contact for help and advice.

WALK-INS AT THE PRACTICE:
There may not be access for casual callers to the practice. We advise telephone or email contact to arrange or change appointments. As part of our quality commitment to our patients, we want to provide undivided attention to those attending for appointments. We are sure you would wish this for yourself.

STERILISATION
Metal instruments, including handpieces, are sterilised by “autoclave” (high-pressure steam) as in hospitals. Needles, endodontic (root filling) instruments & other disposable items are supplied ready sterilised in sealed packs, & are never reused. We routinely wear a fresh pair of gloves during all procedures.

HOW YOU CAN PAY
We will endeavour to provide a comprehensive estimate of costs in advance of any planned treatment, however, unscheduled or emergency appointments are impossible to cost accurately in advance.

Payment is due at each appointment so please be prepared to pay fees when requested. We accept all major credit/debit cards including Switch, Delta & Solo; & cash.

Cheques will be accepted, if you are a regular long-standing patient, however to reduce our costs payment by debit card would be preferred.

As an alternative your fees can be paid by instalments using the Avalon Oral Care Plan (subject to status).

If fees are not paid at the appropriate time we reserve the right to add any additional charges involved in collecting the account plus interest at 25%.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of a genuine emergency cancellation there will be no charge, but in the event of other cancellations, with less than 2 working days notice, we will endeavour to fill the time allocated to you with another patient. If we cannot we reserve the right to make a charge for the time lost at 50% of the scheduled fee.
